My life’s passion is to help individuals and families work through a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, career challenges, self-esteem/self-confidence, coping skills, life transitions, trauma and everyday issues that arise as part of life. I received my BA from Arizona State University and a MSW from the University of Pennsylvania. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and practicing for over twenty years. I hope to support individuals make meaningful goals and feel empowered and capable of navigating the ins and outs of daily life to reach those goals. I keep a collaborative and holistic perspective to meet individuals where they are when they come to therapy. My approach is person-centered and I believe the inherent value and worth of every person. I believe a safe therapeutic relationship is built through trust, warmth, sincerity, and even some humor and fun. I also draw on Psychodynamic and Motivational Interviewing principles in my work. I was trained in clinical social work at the University of Pennsylvania and utilize evidence-based interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma Focused CBT, and Attachment Based Family Therapy. My clinical experience is in the areas of depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, relational conflict, family systems and attachment, and faith and spirituality. I like to use humor and genuine conversation to demystify therapy’s experience and help normalize people’s experiences through human connection.īecause of my clinical experiences, I truly believe that change is possible, even in the direst of circumstances. In addition to the experiences listed above, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a large part of the catalyst for change. I then spent ten years contracting in schools across the Philadelphia School District, completing evaluations for at-risk children to receive one-to-one support at their schools in the city’s most impoverished areas. I also gained experience completing comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations for children ages 5-15 through CHOP’s ADHD clinic. ![]() Before receiving my clinical psychology training, I received a Master’s in Elementary Education from Drexel University. While completing my doctoral internship and my post-doctoral residency on a dual-diagnosis (mental health and substance dependence) long-term residential unit, I developed a deep understanding of trauma and how underlying mental health issues create and maintain alcoholism and drug dependency. I received my Master’s degree and my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology through LaSalle University, where I developed an appreciation for mindfulness and acceptance-based therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical (DBT), as well as more traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I enjoy working with strong personalities and have experience working with children, adults, teens, couples, and families through various challenges. ![]()
